Sitting on the sofa
legs wrapped tightly in the blanket
that I bought
in one of the ethnic markets in LA.
I could almost see the way
it has been knit.
A woman my mother’s age
sitting in her Persian armchair.
Her head is bent,
her hands turn nostalgic feelings
into oriental patterns.
